The Heavy Metal Truants have introduced an online raffle, giving fans the chance to win an actual piece of Iron Maiden’s Ed Force One airplane, flown by Bruce Dickinson during "The Book of Souls World Tour."
Founded in 2013 by Iron Maiden manager Rod Smallwood and journalist Alexander Milas, The Heavy Metal Truants have raised over £1 million for charity in the past 12 years through their annual bike rides to Download Festival, auctions, raffles, and virtual challenges. All money raised goes to four children’s charities: "Teenage Cancer Trust," "Nordoff & Robbins Music Therapy," "Childline/NSPCC," and "Save The Children."
Their latest fundraising initiative, "Monster Rock Auction," is open until Wednesday, 16th October 2024 at 23:59.
There are 12 unique items available for auction on The Heavy Metal Truants' official website, donated by legendary musicians such as Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Judas Priest, The Cure, KISS, ZZ Top, and Black Sabbath.

In addition to the auction, The Heavy Metal Truants are also holding a raffle for a window pane from Iron Maiden’s second Ed Force One, a former Air France Boeing 747-400 jumbo jet.
Bruce Dickinson will personally sign the window pane, accompanied by a photo taken through the window showing the Ed Force One engine with its "Book of Souls" decals.
Raffle tickets are priced at £20. Shipping will be handled by the Truants Foundation.
Rod Smallwood explains, “The Heavy Metal Truants is a great way for the rock and metal community to come together and help disadvantaged children.”
He continues, “It doesn’t matter if you’re a fan, in the industry, or in a band: you can make a difference by supporting these activities, and that really counts for a lot!”
Alexander Milas, co-founder of Heavy Metal Truants, adds, “This is a chance to own a piece of history while supporting four incredible causes."
He further notes, “There’s an amazing feel-good factor seeing the music world come together to support our cause each year, proving that Heavy Metal Truants is more than just a cause – it’s a community.”
